How to work out 6 months from a date
- Add 6 to the month. November becomes May; if you pass December, the year goes up by one.
- Keep the same day of the month. 4 November becomes 4 May.
- If that day does not exist, use the last day of the month. 31 August plus 6 months is 28 February, or 29 February in a leap year.
This is the same rule we use for half birthdays, because a half birthday is simply your birthday plus 6 months.
